Why Mediation?

Conflict Resolution

 

Mediation is an effective way to build understanding, strengthen relationships, develop shared values and goals, and build unity.

I facilitate conversations between people who find themselves in conflict and would benefit from a mediated conversation to reach a better place. The mediation process itself can vary depending on the goals of the participants. I work with participants to develop a safe, confidential, and respectful process and then help guide the conversation to achieve the best possible outcomes for everyone involved. 

Participants maintain a high level of control over the process. The process is entirely confidential, and the eventual decision of whether to enter into an agreement or settlement is entirely voluntary. 


Workplace and Organizational Mediation

 

I work with leadership teams, boards, and staff to have supportive conversations that will help them move through difficult issues and barriers and establish a unified, focussed team. 

With 20 years’ experience working in the non-profit sector at all levels (as staff, as an executive director, and as a board member), I have a deep appreciation and understanding of mission driven organizations. I have seen how a unified team can make amazing things happen. I have also seen how internal and external conflict can get in the way of reaching important organizational goals. When conflict arises, it can be challenging to figure out how best to address it. However, with the right process in place that is principled, respectful, and open, these situations can be transformational. 

My work as an organizational mediator supports relationship building which leads to a stronger, more resilient workplace.

I have extensive experience as an executive director and as a director on non-profit boards. I offer consulting services to leadership teams on a range of issues including organizational structure, strategic planning, policy development, and governance.
